Membership to SARF is open to all regulatory authorities in the Republic of South Africa and is voluntary. However, meeting invitations may be extended to organisations that are not regulators but are interested in regulatory affairs, for instance law firms and government departments. Such institutions may be invited as observers capable of participating in all activities of SARF, save that they are not entitled to vote at meetings. The application for membership shall then be approved by the Plenary at the meeting following receipt of the application.
